DML Welcomes Renowned Cultural Writer

The Dayton Metro Library’s Social Justice Speaker Series will feature Columbus, Ohio native Hanif Abdurraqib in the Main Library’s Eichelberger Forum on Tuesday, September 20, from 10-11:15 am.

Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic, with many of his writings encompassing music and the Black Experience in America. In addition to earning many accolades for his writing, his latest work, A Little Devil In America (Random House, 2021) was a winner of the Andrew Carnegie Medal and the Gordon Burn Prize and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pen/Diamonstein-Spielvogle Award. Last year, Abdurraqib was named a MacArthur Fellow.
