Roland Gonzales is the HR & Organizational Development Director for the Dayton Metro Library with over 14 years of experience in developing, implementing, and overseeing strategic HR programs and initiatives. Prior to DML, he spent over 8 years with the City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities where he worked in a variety of HR leadership roles and served on the Mayor’s collective bargaining team. Roland was a joint recipient of the OHPELRA Pacesetter Award in both 2018 and 2019 where he was recognized for his contributions to public sector labor relations and human resources. He holds both SPHR and SHRM-SCP HR certifications, as well as a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources from Franklin University. Roland is also a graduate of Leadership Columbus, Class of 2018.
Today, Roland sits on the Board of Directors for OHPELRA where he works to support and advance the HR profession for its members all around the state of Ohio. Not originally from the Dayton area, Roland and his husband Jorge have relocated to the Beavercreek area where they live with their dogs, Mollie and Maya.
