What about picking up and placing Holds?

If you were notified that your Holds/Reserves were ready, they are being held on the shelves in your designated location, where they will stay until we re-open. If you were notified of Holds/Reserves that were placed in the 24-hour Lobby Hold Lockers, they are available for pick up if you have not yet done so. (We are unable to restock the Library Hold Lockers at this time.) Effective 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, we will no longer accept Holds/Reserves for physical materials with Dayton Metro or our Troy operations (Bradford holds continue). We will notify all DML card holders when we are able to resume our Holds functionality. Any items previous on hold, will remain so until we re-open.

My library card is about to expire?

Do not worry, if your card expired between the dates of January 1 – April 14, 2020, the Library will automatically apply a temporary extension to your card until April 15, 2020.

What about my due/overdue items?

Keep them for now. All items with a due date after February 1, 2020, have been automatically renewed until April 15. If we remain closed, we will extend due dates past that time.

  • Make sure the item you are requesting is not already owned by Dayton Metro Library.
    If it is and all copies are checked out, please reserve the item online.

  • Make sure you do not owe $10.00 or more in fees.
    Check your account online (under Fees).

  • Please use your own personal Dayton Metro Library card.
    We cannot use an outreach card, classroom card, or Troy or Bradford Library cards.

  • If you wish to renew your Interlibrary Loan item please call (937) 496-8613 one week before the due date.

  • You may only have 10 inter-library loan requests at any given time.

  • You must be 18 years of age to use this service.

You must enter a valid e-mail for this form to work correctly.
Any additional info about the materials you would like to inter-library loan. ISSN for magazines, OCLC number if you know it.
