The Trotwood Branch of the Dayton Metro Library is proud to be one of 2,300 libraries and bookstores across the United States supporting World Book Night 2014. On April 23, 25,000 volunteers will give away half a million books in more than 6,000 towns and cities across the U.S. The Trotwood Branch Library will serve as a distribution base for local volunteers who will pick up their books to be distributed to individuals in the Trotwood area.
"We are honored to be selected by World Book Night to serve as a distribution site for this worthy endeavor," said Luellen Wilson, manager of the Trotwood Branch Library. "We are happy to take part in a program that spreads the love of reading, especially to people who may not have many books to call their own, right here in our community."
A reception will take place on Monday, April 14, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the library, located at 651 E. Main Street in Trotwood. The registered volunteers will be able to pick up their box of books for distribution, and everyone who attends can share refreshments and their love of reading. The reception is free and open to the public.
