As the new Main Library gets closer to completion it is so exciting that I can hardly wait to work with nonprofits in this beautiful new space. I want to provide world class service in our world class facilities. My specialty is Nonprofits. I offer classes, print resources, and access to the Foundation Directory Online and one on one appointments with area nonprofit leaders. The Foundation Directory Online is a huge database of all of the grant making foundations in the world. I can teach you how to search it to identify foundations that you may contact who make grants to organizations like yours.
In September, out of curiosity and to identify best practices I took a road trip to visit other libraries within the state who also have partnerships with the Foundation Center. I was amazed to learn that very few libraries in Ohio prioritize nonprofit resources the way Dayton Metro Library does. Many of the Foundation Center libraries offer just 2 classes per year! Here at Dayton, I will have presented 18 classes by year’s end to meet the demands of the Miami Valley, nonprofit community. One hundred percent of my time is devoted to nonprofit development. My work is a great example of how the Dayton Metro Library fulfills its strategies for impact. Those strategies are to Inform, Inspire and Enrich the Miami Valley community.
