Are you stuck? Do you feel like there is only a small number of foundations that will support your organization?
The Nonprofit Resource Center of the Dayton Metro Library offers a collection of books specifically of interest to nonprofit personnel. You’ll find a wide variety of books that address grant writing, board development, special event planning, conducting a capital campaign, and many other topics.
As a member of the Foundation Center, the Library offers the Foundation Directory Online, a massive database of foundations that is searchable by various criteria. With one-on-one instruction, it can be utilized at your convenience to generate a list of prospects who could fund your nonprofit and help to fulfill your mission. You can acquire a list of foundations across the country that support the work that you are doing and in the state of Ohio who give. It’s also possible to find organizations that give in the Dayton area.
Currently, the Nonprofit Resource Center is housed at the Temporary Main Branch, 120 S. Patterson Boulevard in downtown Dayton. When the new Main Library opens this summer, the Nonprofit Resource Center will become part of LAUNCH POINT on the Library’s second floor, offering resources and expertise for nonprofits, workforce development and the business community.
