The Dayton Metro Library’s general Ask Me phone line is now being answered live, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to call 937.463.2665 during these hours for assistance with their Library card or account, help downloading or streaming digital Library materials, and general reference quesions.
While all Dayton Metro Library locations remain closed to both staff and public, online services continue at DaytonMetroLibrary.org. Many online tools and a vast digital collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, television shows, music and more for all ages are available for checkout.
“To maintain safety and follow the Governor’s Stay At Home orders, Library managers are taking shifts answering the Ask Me Line from their homes,” said Diane Farrell, Director of External Relations and Development. “Callers may hear a baby cry or other sounds of domestic life in the background as we do our best to answer your questions. We’re just happy to connect with our patrons again!”
Those who don’t already have a Dayton Metro Library card can register online for an eCard and gain instant access to the digital collections.
“We can help people register for an eCard, or update their old Library card and PIN,” said Farrell. “We can guide people to find and download the digital materials they want to read, watch or listen to, and we can introduce callers to Library tools for online learning, news and health information sources, and more.”
Call the Ask Me Line at 937-463-2665, Mon - Fri, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. If lines are busy, callers may get voice mail and are advised to leave a message; staff will return their call as son as possible.
