| Twenty art quilts will be on display in the Second Floor Gallery featuring faces behind the suffrage movement and 19th Amendment. Twelve additional quilts featuring Mother Goose rhymes rewritten in 1912 with suffragist messages will be on display in the Opportunity Space at Patterson beginning June 18th. The intricate artworks were created by members of the Miami Valley Art Quilt Network

Peruse historical photos, speeches and other documents. Take your picture with Dayton suffragists and make a sash or button to keep alive the message of Forward towards Equality for All.

Main Library, Opportunity Space at Patterson and Second Floor Art Gallery | Over 100 years ago women sought the right to vote! Who are they? What did they do? Where did they live? Married? Single? Mother? Proper? Lipstick and Pants! Oh, my! Suffragists: And They Persisted!, an art quilt show, answers some of these questions. Artists from the Miami Valley Art Quilt Network will answer questions about the 19th Amendment and the suffragists featured on their intricate art quilts. They will also share how the quilts were designed and executed. Even Mother Goose is included…find out why. Come early and stay after to view the quilts and chat with the artists.
