AniMangaCon: Dayton Metro Library Event for Teens

This week, teen fans of anime and manga will converge at the Dayton Metro Library for AniMangaCon - a free celebration of Japanese animation (anime) and cartooning (manga). The festivities take place Saturday, October 27, 1:00-4:00 p.m. in TeenEDGE on the second floor of the Main Library, 215 E. Third Street in Dayton. The free event features cosplay, gaming, crafts, J-Pop and prizes.
AniMangaCon includes:

  • Costume Contest - enter as an individual or a group in the costume contest
  • Crafts - Make buttons and perler bead creations
  • Tabletop and oversize games
  • Video games on the Library’s gaming equipment
  • Costume Creation Challenge - work in teams to create a paper and duct tape costume on the spot
  • Try your hand at writing in Japanese
  • J Pop and K Pop DJ

“AniMangaCon is a great opportunity for like-minded kids from across the Miami Valley to get together and have fun for free,” said Steve Moser, Teen Services Coordinator for the Library. “For anime and manga fans, this is the place to be.”
