It’s a visual and auditory feast when The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Woodwind Quintet presents Brushes & Beats: A Pairing of Art and Music, at the Dayton Metro Library. The free performance is Thursday, October 4, 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Main Library’s Bassani Theater Off Third, 215 E. Third Street.
Brushes & Beats is a multimedia presentation that pairs live music performed by the DPO Woodwind Quartet with projected images of artwork. This performance features music by Gershwin, Grieg and Offenbach, and the artwork of Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec and Bierstadt.
“This program connects the two art forms, giving viewers and listeners new ways to appreciate them both,” said Julie Buchanan, Programming Manager for the Library.
The program is free and open to all ages.
