David Ze’ev Jablinowitz has interviewed seven consecutive Israeli prime ministers in his role as a journalist covering Israeli history from 1981 to the present. He’ll share historical and current perspectives on the state of Israel in his free presentation, “Israel & the US: Where Politics and Diplomacy Meet” on Monday, June 11, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Main Library, Eichelberger Forum, 215 E. Third Street.
In 36 years at Kol Yisrael English Radio, Jablinowitz has covered the gamut of stories that have shaped where we are today: the Demjanjuk trial, the massive immigration of Ethiopian Jews, political and diplomatic upheavals, peace efforts, and terror attacks. Instead of just the news, Jablinowitz shares stories of people on buses, in the markets, the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and wherever stories come his way.
“Life in Israel can feel like a roller coaster. For me, covering the hard news and soft stories of this country has been quite a ride, and I hope I don’t have to get off anytime soon,” he said.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Carry in lunch is encouraged. For more information, visit DaytonMetroLibrary.org or call 937.463.2665.
