What Were the Top Five Most-Borrowed Items in 2017?

Pop quiz: Which author had more Top Five titles borrowed from the Dayton Metro Library in 2017 than any other author? Was it John Grisham? James Patterson? Or Jeff Kinney – author of the ever-popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid books?

A look at the Library’s circulation statistics for 2017 reveals the Top Five most popular titles in several different categories, including Fiction, Nonfiction and Digital.

“I found it fascinating - and cool - that the #1 eBook had almost as much circulation as the #1 physical adult book,” said Holly Varley, Collection Development Director. “And looking at the Children’s statistics, the number one kids’ book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School, completely crushes the number one adult fiction title, Never Never by James Patterson!”

In the Digital Collection, the top five most-borrowed items were all eBooks. Audiobooks did not make the top five.
