Friends of the Dayton Metro Library Host Fall Book Sale

Just in time to stock up for long winter nights of reading, the Friends of the Dayton Metro Library are hosting their Fall Book Sale, September 29-30 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Coliseum, 1043 S. Main Street. Sale hours are 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Friends of the Library Book Sale features items weeded from all Dayton Metro Library locations, and includes books for children, teens and adults as well as CDs, DVDs and more. All items are $1 each, except for items in the Special Collection area, which are individually priced.

“Weeding is a vital part of maintaining a useful Library Collection, as older and duplicate items are removed to make room for new items,” said Holly Varley, Collection Development Director. “Donations that cannot be used in our Collection make up the rest of the items sold at Friends book sales.”

All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library organization. In turn, the Friends support Dayton Metro Library initiatives such as the annual Summer Challenge.
