About the Book: Authors at the Dayton Metro Library

robyOne of the assets of the new Main Library is the Eichelberger Forum, a venue created with arts performances, lectures, and author visits in mind. Dayton Metro Library’s new ABOUT THE BOOK Author Series kicks off in the Eichelberger Forum on Saturday, August 26, at 2:00 p.m. with New York Times bestselling author Kimberla Lawson Roby.

Roby has published 25 novels since her debut title Behind Closed Doors. Her latest book, Sin of a Woman, is part of the Reverend Curtis Black series. Her novels are known for dealing with real issues, such as corruption within the church, addiction, domestic violence and discrimination.

“Our ABOUT THE BOOK programs give readers a chance to meet and learn from their favorite authors – how they write, why they write, what they are working on next,” said Julie Buchanan, Adult Programming Manager for the Library. “Books can be purchased and autographed at the events.”

Upcoming ABOUT THE BOOK programs feature notable authors of children’s and young adult books.

Programs are free but advance registration is recommended. For more information, visit the online events calendar at DaytonMetroLibrary.org or call (937) 463-BOOK.
