Main Library Joins in the Urban Nights Festivities

urbannights

Downtown Dayton is the place to be this Friday, May 9! It's Urban Nights, a celebration of downtown dining, nightlife, arts, music, retail and urban living. It's been described as an all-inclusive open house for downtown Dayton, and the Main Library will be part of the hoopla!

It's a "Hula Hoopla Party" at Main! Instead of closing at 6:00 as usual, the Main Library will remain open until 10:00 p.m. with music from D.J. Funky G, refreshments and demonstrations of Hoopla - the library's free downloadable movies, music and television shows!

"The library will come to life with music, hoola hoop demonstrations, giant walking books and more," said Chuck Duritsch, Manager of External Relations for the Library. "Sign up for a library card and let us show you how you can download or live stream popular movies, music CDs or episodes of your favorite TV shows for free from Hoopla on our website."

Staff will be on hand to answer questions, offer demonstrations and help with checking out materials if needed.

The event is free and open to the public. Metered parking is free after 6:00 p.m.
