Educator & Student Cards

Student Cards and eCards, opens a new window allow us to provide Library access to your students without the need of a parent/guardian signature and regardless of fine status. Classroom, grade level, school, and district-wide solutions are available – simply get in touch with the Youth Services and Programming Director.

Our Educator Card lets you keep your personal card personal, and also lets you check out MORE items than typical patrons and for LONGER… up to 6 weeks! Apply for an Educator Card in person at your Branch and start checking out materials to support your classroom!

Collections & Alerts

Our Youth Services Librarians can enhance your curriculum with Classroom Collections tailored to your needs. From gathering books on a particular subject to providing multiple copies of a single title, we can do it all.

Give us a heads up during your next big assignment! We’ll gather resources and provide suggestions related to the topic to have ready and available for your students at the closest Branch.

Not sure what you need? Just use our Teacher Services Request form, and we'll answer you questions, gather your collections and more.

First Club

FIRST CLUB is the Library’s annual campaign to make sure all first graders have their own Library Cards. Children Services Librarians visit first grade classrooms across Montgomery County or host a field trip to share an original picture book and send students home with card applications and incentives, then deliver those cards directly back to students at school. It’s a lively, fun, and practical introduction to the Library for children who are learning to read and explore their world.

Homework Help Centers at YOUR Library

Need HELP? Homework Help Assistants and DML volunteers are standing by, ready to help! Students in K-12 can visit a Homework Help Center at available Branch Libraries to get help with homework and school projects, or to get extra practice in a subject area of their choice. There are also free STEAM activities, educational games, and reading coaching for students without homework or for those who finish their homework early. Computers are available for use and printing is free! Students under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the Library by an adult.
