Welcome to Your Dayton Metro Library

Enjoy a vast collection of materials, services and programs for all ages and stages of life. Explore our online resources including digital collections, databases, searchable events calendar and reference assistance. Learn, imagine and discover at the Dayton Metro Library – your story begins here.

Today we say, "So long, farewell, au revoir, auf Wiedershen, adieu, goodbye," to our Foreign Language and Interlibrary Loan Librarian, Greg Estes, who dedicated an outstanding 34 years of his life to serving Dayton Metro Library patrons, barely missing a day of work.

Greg started his career in the Industry and Science Division, which later merged with two other departments into the Adult Services Division of today. He saw the transition to a digital library catalog in the late 1980s, the introduction of the internet to staff in the mid-1990s, the Main Library remodel in the late 1990s, and the first patron computers with internet access.

He remembers being impressed the first time he logged onto a computer in college and saw the words "Hello, Greg."

We already miss him, but wish him beaucoup success in retirement! https://facebook.com/DaytonMetroLibr…
