What Bill Gates Recommends You Read This Summer

On his blog “GatesNotes” Bill Gates recently shared his recommended reading list for Summer 2016.  Gates’ choices feature a lot of science, math and technology, all hot topics in these days of tech commercialization, STEM education initiatives and medical science that seemingly changes every day. In abbreviated form, here are the titles on Gates’ list:

  1. Seveneves by Neal Stephenson
  2. How Not to be Wrong by Jordan Ellenberg
  3. The Vital Question by Nick Lane
  4. The Power to Compete
by Ryoichi Mikitani and Hiroshi Mikitani
  5. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
    by Noah Yuval Harari

There is much to be learned from Bill Gates, one of the greatest business and technology minds of modern day so here’s a link to the whole blog entry from May 17, 2016.  In his blog, Gates provides a plot summary and his explanation for why he chose each book to add to his list. Gates also narrates a clever, animated video version of his list here. Happy reading!
