It is an acronym for the fields of study in the categories of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Have you read any STEM-related books you would recommend to friends? If so, join us for this special book club to share books relating to STEM topics.

Lego Club - Saturday, November 16th 3:00-4:00 pm. Calling all Lego fanatics! Come to the Kettering Library for an afternoon of Lego fun. We have plenty of Lego's but bring a baseplate if you have one. Grades Kindergarten through grade 6. Advance Registration Required.

Slimy Science Tuesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm. Put on your lab coats and learn first-hand about the scientific method through two experiments. Make polymers from glue and borax and identify chemical and physical changes by observing color, gas, heating and cooling. Everyone gets to take home a gooey sample of slime.

Paper Airplane Olympics Wednesday, November 20 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Middle school-aged pilots compete in a paper airplane Olympics with planes of their own design. Events will include a loop contest, a runway where pilots must land their plane, and an accuracy test where pilots will aim their planes across the meeting room, aiming at a bulls-eye. Prizes will be awarded! Advanced Registration as the program is limited to 15 pilots.

The Science behind Shrinky Dinks Thursday November 21 from 4:00 to 5:00pm Tweens will learn the science behind Shrinky Dinks, a form of thermoplastics. Thermoplastics can be heated and stretched out and cooled to form plastic sheets. The great things about thermoplastics is that upon reheating the plastic changes back to its original state, in others words it shrinks!
