Hoopla - Getting Started

Welcome to Hoopla, a new e-platform allows our patrons to borrow (via instant streaming or temporary download) thousands of digital video and music titles which can be enjoyed on a smartphone, a tablet or a desktop computer. To get started make sure you have your library card number and PIN. Forget your PIN?Click here to retrieve it.


Getting Started with Hoopla in 5 Easy Steps

1.  Register for an account by visiting or using the hoopla app on your iOS or Android mobile device and click on Sign Up. You will need to provide an email address, create a password, and have your library card number and PIN. Our free mobile app can be found in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

2.  Easily browse titles on your computer or mobile device by clicking Browse and choosing the Music, Movies, or Television tab. You can also search for a specific title by clicking on the Search box and typing in your title/keyword.

3.  To borrow a title click on the titles icon and then click the Borrow button. The borrowed titled can be found under the My Titles tab for viewing/listening. Enjoy your selected titles!

4.  Borrowed titles will be automatically returned when your lending period is over.

Which devices are supported by Hoopla?

apps Answer: Currently, hoopla is supported by iOS devices that run iOS 6. This includes: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2 and newer, and iPod Touch 4th generation and newer. hoopla is also available for Android smartphones and tablets. The hoopla Digital app is compatible with select Android devices, this includes most devices that support Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above. At this time, hoopla is not available on game consoles, but stay tuned! Hoopla is not currently supported on Kindle devices.

Which browsers are supported by Hoopla?

Answer: Hoopla supports Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, Firefox (version 8 and above), and Safari. Some other browsers may work, but those listed have been confirmed to work. Please ensure you have the most up to date versions of these browsers on your home machines. Desktops using a browser requires a plugin called Widevine to play videos. You will be prompted to install this plugin the first time you try to play a Hoopla video.
