National Library Week

National Library Week (first celebrated in 1958) is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. This year, the theme is Libraries = Strong Communities. We encourage you to show your #LibraryLove by visiting your local branch or giving a "shout out" on social media. We hope you'll be a part of it!

Libraries aren’t just books, computers and buildings. They’re special because of the AMAZING people! Get on social media to join us in saying #ThanksDMLstaff on National Library Workers Day. Take a selfie with your go-to Librarian, shout out to your favorite branch, or come up with your own way to show your #LibraryLove!

Today, you can help support the libraries that strengthen our community and transform lives. Consider a gift to the DML Foundation to support LOVE THEM OUT LOUD, early literacy kits distributed through our partners to families in need. Visit our donation page to make your #LibraryGivingDay gift today and help us get off to a great start!
