Since 1888, the hub of Dayton Metro Library has been situated in Cooper Park in downtown Dayton. While the location has remained constant, the Library and its facilities have evolved to meet the changing needs of our community. The Main Library is constructed around the solid structural core of the 1960s building. With the addition of a three-story tower and the relocation of administrative and support offices to the Operations Center on Patterson Boulevard, the 224,000 square foot Main Library is a civic commons designed to inform, inspire and enrich our community for decades to come.
