When sharing books with your toddler, follow his lead. Watch to see which pictures he is interested in and let him keep looking at them while you keep talking about them. It is common for babies to grab at, swat and to mouth the book. You can clean a board book with an alcohol wipe if you are concerned about books being handled when they are from the library. The “hands-on” way little ones use books is a normal and important part of learning at this age. Don’t worry about teaching your child the proper way to handle books until they get older.
