David J. Hess is the Fiscal Officer and Treasurer of the Dayton Metro Library. Prior to his role with the Library, David enjoyed a 25 year career as Assistant Director of Finance and Administration for Montgomery County Job and Family Services. David’s responsibilities involved overseeing all areas of finance, including the accounting department, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable and contracting, as well as the records, IT and facilities departments. Previously, David served as Court Accountant for Montgomery County Common Pleas Court where he supervised all areas of finance and accounting. David received his B.S. from Wright State University in accounting and an M.P.A. from the University of Dayton. Residents of Kettering for 30 years, David and his wife have seven children. He is active with the Community Blood Center and is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
